Returns policy.

Every part we ship is machined to your specifications. Because our work is custom, our return policy is different from a typical retail store. Here is how it works.

Custom parts are non-returnable

Custom machined parts are made to order from your drawings and cannot be restocked or resold. We do not accept returns on parts that meet the specifications provided in your approved quote and drawing.

Defective or out-of-spec parts

If a part arrives defective, damaged, or does not meet the tolerances and specifications on your drawing, we want to make it right. Contact us within 48 hours of receiving your order so we can assess the issue promptly.

How to report an issue

Email admin@heritageshopco.com with the following:

  • Your order number or quote reference
  • A description of the issue (what dimension is off, what defect you found)
  • Photos of the part showing the problem — close-ups of the affected area are helpful
  • Measurement data if you have it (caliper readings, CMM report, etc.)

We review every quality claim seriously. Our machinists will compare your photos and measurements against the original drawing and our inspection records.

Resolution

If we determine the part is out of spec or defective due to our error, we will offer one of the following at our discretion:

  • Rework — we will re-machine the part to bring it into spec at no additional cost
  • Remake — we will manufacture a new part and ship it to you
  • Refund — we will issue a full or partial refund for the affected part

We cover return shipping costs for parts that are being sent back for rework or replacement due to our error.

What is not covered

  • Parts that meet the drawing specifications but do not fit or function as intended in your assembly (this is a design issue, not a machining issue)
  • Damage caused during installation, use, or modification after delivery
  • Shipping damage after the carrier has delivered the package — see our Shipping Policy for damage claims
  • Issues reported more than 48 hours after delivery

Inspection recommendations

We recommend inspecting your parts as soon as they arrive. Check critical dimensions, surface finish, and overall condition. The sooner you catch an issue, the faster we can resolve it.
